About DART Decoded

DART Decoded is an English-language blog that translates and analyzes corporate filings from Korea's DART (Data Analysis, Retrieval and Transfer System) — the Korean equivalent of the U.S. SEC's EDGAR.

Our goal is simple: make Korean corporate disclosures accessible to global investors who don't read Korean. Every day, we select the most significant filings — rights offerings, M&A announcements, treasury stock decisions, convertible bond issuances — and break them down in plain English with investor-relevant context.

What We Cover

  • Rights offerings and capital raises
  • Treasury stock acquisitions and disposals
  • Mergers, spin-offs, and business transfers
  • Major supply contracts and large-scale orders
  • Convertible bonds and warrant issuances
  • Shareholder meetings and dividend decisions

Our Approach

  • Primary source: Official DART filings from the Financial Supervisory Service (FSS)
  • Tone: Professional, data-driven, no speculation
  • Frequency: Multiple posts daily, aligned with Korean market hours (KST)
  • No investment advice: We summarize filings — we don't recommend trades

Why This Matters

Foreign investors hold approximately 30% of KOSPI market capitalization, yet most DART filings are published only in Korean. The Korean government is expanding mandatory English disclosures (full rollout expected by 2028), but until then, a significant information gap remains. DART Decoded exists to bridge that gap.
